Intro to Dance Music : Dance music is music composed specifically to accompany dancing. It can be either a whole musical piece or part of a larger musical arrangement., and has a clear beat to which the audience usually 'move along' to. It originates from Traditional African Music, and was then developed through the Caribbean, into the USA merging into Disco. Disco Music: Disco music is a style of music which emerged in the early 1970's. It came from America's urban nightlife scene, originally formed in housed parties and discothèques. The peak of disco music's popularity was between the years of the mid 1970's to the early 1980's and features reverbed vocals due to this. The rhythm follows a strong 4/4 structure, and consists of a fast tempo and luscious orchestra arrangements. The music's featured on each video are all up-beat and 'hip', which is why 'urban' settings and clothing's have been used throughout the video to create this representation of the 'hip hop/dance genre.
